Responsibilities

  • Design and build React and FastAPI web applications deployed as Databricks Apps.
  • Develop data stewardship queues, approval workflows, confidence visualizations, lineage dashboards, quality monitoring, and pipeline health interfaces.
  • Implement REST APIs integrating with Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL, Delta tables, and AI Model Serving endpoints.
  • Integrate applications with Unity Catalog through the Databricks SDK and REST APIs for resource discovery, access control, and lineage.
  • Maintain Databricks Asset Bundles for CI/CD deployment across DEV, INT, UAT, and PROD environments.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to deliver stateless, containerized, and scalable applications within the Databricks security perimeter.
  • Write unit and integration tests while maintaining over 80% coverage on critical paths.
  • Participate in design reviews, pull-request reviews, architecture discussions, and documentation of API contracts, component libraries, and deployment runbooks.
  • Uphold front-end coding standards, TypeScript typing discipline, and accessibility guidelines.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of professional experience building web applications in TypeScript and React environments.
  • Proficiency with React hooks, component composition, state management using Redux Toolkit or Zustand, and Vite or ESBuild.
  • Python backend experience with FastAPI or Flask, including REST API design, asynchronous handlers, and dependency injection.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and OpenAPI or Swagger documentation.
  • Hands-on experience building or operating Databricks Apps, including SDK authentication, workspace resource management, and application lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of Unity Catalog schemas, tables, volumes, grants, and lineage APIs.
  • Familiarity with Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and the DBSQL Connector for Python.
  • Exposure to Databricks Asset Bundles for CI/CD and multi-environment deployment.
  • Experience with enterprise DevOps pipelines; Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions is preferred.
  • Comfort with Docker, Azure-hosted deployment, Git, pull-request workflows, semantic versioning, and basic SQL.
  • Desirable qualifications include experience with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or other generative AI APIs; data-quality tooling; MDM, data stewardship, or data governance UIs; Azure or Databricks certifications; graph visualization; geospatial libraries; or data-intensive industry domains.
