Responsibilities

  • Build lighthouse projects and proof-of-concepts for strategic technology initiatives sponsored by SAP’s CTO or other executives.
  • Design, develop, challenge, and improve state-of-the-art software in a collaborative team of developers, architects, and designers.
  • Create secure, scalable AI-native applications combining traditional software components with agentic AI capabilities.
  • Design, document, and implement APIs, cloud infrastructure, relational database solutions, microservice architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code while maintaining high-quality development practices and participating in code reviews.
  • Present technical ideas to stakeholders and collaborate on technology evaluations and strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Go, Rust, or comparable languages, with strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software design.
  • Very good knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript and proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Svelte.
  • Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience designing secure, scalable AI-native applications with agentic AI capabilities.
  • Very good understanding of cloud programming, APIs including REST and GraphQL, relational databases, microservice architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including SAP BTP or a hyperscaler.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and pipeline setup and maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of agile software development processes and experience with regular code reviews.
  • First professional experience in a similar software development role, with demonstrated responsibility in development projects.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, independent prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German.
