Responsibilities
- Improve the reliability and scalability of Cloudera’s Kubernetes-based hybrid cloud platform.
- Build systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications using declarative Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, deployment processes, and platform standards.
- Collaborate with product, backend, and cross-functional teams to improve platform integration and developer and customer experience.
- Optimize systems and eliminate toil through simplification and automation.
- Monitor availability, latency, and overall service health.
- Participate in sustainable incident response, blameless postmortems, and an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of industry experience in SRE, DevOps, or a related role.
- Strong Linux and systems administration experience.
- Experience with cloud architectures on AWS, GCP, Azure, and/or OpenStack.
- Experience with microservices architectures on Kubernetes.
- Experience with observability, logging, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu and related technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Flux CD and Argo CD is a plus.
- Experience with GitOps and Git-based automation is a plus.
- Programming experience in Python, Go, or similar languages is a plus.
- Experience with compliance programs such as SOC, FedRAMP, or HITRUST CSF is a plus.
- Experience with database systems including Postgres and MySQL is a plus.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
