Responsibilities
- Own architecture and design across native mobile, backend, and navify cloud systems.
- Define app-to-cloud integration boundaries and produce technical designs, architecture decision records, and C4 models.
- Make explicit trade-offs involving cost, risk, time to value, reuse, and regulatory separation.
- Shape the AI-augmented software development lifecycle using agentic tools such as Claude Code and ChatGPT.
- Set standards and guardrails for reliable and accountable AI-assisted engineering in regulated environments.
- Design modular backend services and data and integration flows across identity, consent, notifications, AI, and FHIR capabilities.
- Contribute to reusable product blueprints and shared mobile and navify platform foundations.
- Guide squads toward technical decisions, conduct design reviews, mentor engineers, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Collaborate with mobile specialists and the Cloud and DevOps sub-chapter while providing cross-domain architectural direction.
- Develop hands-on prototypes when needed to reduce design risk.
Requirements
- Strong track record as a Software Architect designing systems across mobile, backend, and cloud.
- Strong cloud and backend architecture experience with Java, Spring, modular and domain-driven design, APIs, integrations, cloud-native patterns, and DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code and the ability to assess their limitations and results.
- Ability to translate architecture into actionable technical designs, decision records, and C4 models.
- Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments; Software as a Medical Device experience is advantageous.
- Strong communication, decision-making, collaboration, and technical leadership skills without relying on formal authority.
- Willingness to prototype hands-on and receive or provide challenge during technical trade-offs.
- Experience with a major cloud provider is a plus.
- FHIR, healthcare data standards, identity and consent platforms, reference architecture, platform teams, or deeper SaMD experience are bonus qualifications.
