Base Salary
$150k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build resilient and secure distributed systems for AI-powered evidence search and analysis.
- Deploy large language models, vision models, and other machine learning systems in production.
- Design retrieval-augmented generation pipelines and semantic search for unstructured evidence.
- Build structured data systems with query planning and semantic reasoning capabilities.
- Develop agentic systems that reason, plan, and act across investigative data.
- Evaluate emerging AI models and infrastructure approaches and drive projects from problem definition through delivery.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of backend engineering experience building distributed systems, including production deployment of LLMs, vision models, or other machine learning systems.
- Proficiency in Python and multiple programming languages, potentially including JavaScript and React.
- Experience designing RAG or similar pipelines for unstructured data and building structured data systems with query planning, semantic modeling, or reasoning.
- Experience working across multiple infrastructure providers with security and resilience as core considerations.
- Experience in both an established organization and an early-stage startup.
- Curiosity about AI, comfort with ambiguity, and motivation to contribute to public safety.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
