Responsibilities
- Deliver traffic-platform milestones from problem definition through rollout and follow-up.
- Design pragmatic solutions for complex infrastructure problems while balancing reliability, performance, security, and effort.
- Build stability, testing, observability, and failure-resilience into shipped systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and partner teams to establish priorities, technical plans, and milestones.
- Use AI tools and agents to investigate issues, write and review code, explore solutions, and automate repetitive work.
- Create technical documentation and runbooks and share knowledge through reviews and technical sessions.
- Support engineer growth through code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and daily collaboration.
- Participate in support and on-call routines and drive improvements based on incidents, tickets, and metrics.
Requirements
- Experience operating large-scale, high-performance synchronous distributed systems in the cloud, including load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS/mTLS, routing, and metrics, logs, and traces.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, manifests, routing and deployment strategies, and DNS configuration.
- Daily use of AI tools and agents in engineering workflows with validation of their outputs and attention to quality and safety.
- Experience leading infrastructure platform projects from design through production launch and post-rollout stabilization.
- Experience with Istio or other service-mesh technologies such as Linkerd, Envoy-based solutions, or Finagle.
- Production experience with AWS networking and compute primitives including ALB/NLB, security groups, VPC, Route 53, and IAM.
- Hands-on experience with Pulumi or Terraform for cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Experience building platform capabilities, shared libraries, abstractions, SDKs, or internal tooling for other engineers.
