Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and programming support for new applications and enhancements to existing custom, hosted, and packaged applications.
- Resolve day-to-day problems on complex systems across a variety of platforms and research difficult technical issues.
- Translate business and user requirements into technical specifications, workflows, and appropriate system solutions.
- Present system solutions to clients and collaborate with business representatives, vendors, and internal technology teams.
- Identify system inefficiencies and inadequacies and recommend improvements.
- Support software releases, application upgrades, change control, testing, approvals, and movement of system changes through application environments.
- Document procedures, applications, data stores, operational support models, and technical user guides.
- Maintain application support documentation in Jira and Confluence.
- Participate in Kanban/Scrum activities to coordinate user stories and tasks with Product Owners.
- Provide or arrange training on new procedures and application functionality.
- Support daily operational tasks and special projects.
Requirements
- University-level knowledge in a related field such as computer science.
- Analytical, problem-solving, design, programming, and technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
- Familiarity with workflow diagrams and flowchart processes.
- Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience supporting third-party products and hosted solutions is an asset.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and processes is an asset.
- Knowledge of finance and capital markets is desirable.
- Clear oral and written communication, professionalism, interpersonal skills, relationship-building, customer service, resourcefulness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, continue learning, and uphold high ethical standards.

- Competitive pay of $2,330.00 gross bi-weekly for those with or pursuing a graduate degree, or $2,155.00 gross bi-weekly for those with or pursuing an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate, plus vacation leave paid at 6% of salary.
- Winter 2027 work term from January to April.
- Work location at 750 Pandora Avenue in Victoria, BC; co-ops/internships are completed in person with the option to work one day per week from home where eligible.
- BCI provides a fixed-rate travel allowance for candidates coming to Victoria for the work term.
