Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise AI applications using LLMs and RAG.
- Build AI-assisted search, summarization, question-answering, prompt orchestration, document retrieval, and response-generation services with Amazon Bedrock.
- Implement prompt engineering, source grounding, vector search, semantic search, embeddings, and repeatable evaluations for groundedness, retrieval quality, and clinical relevance.
- Develop secure, scalable cloud-native applications, backend services, REST APIs, and enterprise integrations.
- Integrate AI capabilities into healthcare applications and clinical workflows using FHIR, HL7, and CCD standards.
- Create automated unit, integration, and functional tests and troubleshoot defects and performance issues.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, logging, monitoring, audit capabilities, telemetry, drift detection, and cost monitoring.
- Apply Federal cybersecurity, privacy, data-retention, Responsible AI, human-in-the-loop, and AI governance requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, clinicians, cybersecurity teams, DevSecOps engineers, and Government stakeholders.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, implementation guides, design artifacts, Agile ceremonies, and stakeholder presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of experience developing enterprise software applications.
- At least 5 years of experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated experience developing AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock or similar enterprise AI platforms, enterprise REST APIs, cloud-native services, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation.
- Proficiency with Python, Java, or C#, REST APIs, JSON, Git, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience or knowledge involving healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, CCD, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, RxNorm, and LOINC.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP is desirable.
- Experience with Federal healthcare organizations, AI-enabled clinical workflows, information retrieval, clinician-support applications, or human validation is desirable.
- AWS Developer, AWS AI, machine learning, or other AWS cloud certifications are highly desirable.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance.
