Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure test instances and databases on-premises and in AWS or GCP using Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- Troubleshoot deployment, testing, and product issues in complex distributed systems.
- Develop performance tests using LoadRunner, DevWeb, Apache Benchmark, Cypress, and custom Python, Perl, Bash, and SQL tools.
- Monitor and analyze test results, logs, database queries, and infrastructure metrics to diagnose bottlenecks.
- File and track product issues in Jira with sufficient reproduction details for developers.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate and mitigate testing problems.
- Improve test automation and take ownership of assigned performance engineering tasks.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of dedicated performance engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Linux; Docker and Kubernetes; GCP and/or AWS; performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter; scripting with Bash, Perl, or Python; relational database query performance diagnosis; and monitoring tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Experience with complex, containerized, distributed products in cloud environments is preferred.
