Responsibilities
- Build, expand, and operate ByteDance’s global traffic platform across public clouds, private clouds, and edge data centers.
- Develop tools, automation, visualizations, and monitoring systems to operate and optimize the traffic platform.
- Participate in technical operations rotations responding to performance and reliability issues.
- Improve infrastructure services throughout their lifecycle from inception and design through development, deployment, support, and refinement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with Linux systems, including system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
- At least 3 years of experience with one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, or Shell script.
- Familiarity with cloud and CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred qualifications include experience designing automation for large-scale systems, working with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and other cloud services, and using TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS in carrier-grade environments.
- Experience developing and operating systems such as Kubernetes, Nginx, ipvs, or the ELK stack is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, and project-delivery skills are preferred.
