Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Design, implement, test, maintain, debug, and support scalable Java software and web services.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, code reviews, and technical direction for complex projects.
- Improve existing applications and codebases by identifying issues, patterns, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work across cross-functional teams.
- Investigate and adopt relevant technologies, including cloud, big data, automation, and AI modernization solutions.
- Support customer-facing technical issues and participate in additional engineering projects as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Java full-stack development.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education.
- At least 10 years of experience with Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 8 years of experience developing software for large business environments and mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture knowledge, with strong Java implementation skills.
- Extensive experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, shell scripting, software security practices, big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- React, Pulsar, and Snowflake experience are preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
