Base Salary
$232k - $258k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical roadmap and lead delivery of machine learning systems for autonomous driving.
- Lead strategy for autonomous driving algorithm development, including robust handling of complex urban edge cases.
- Drive end-to-end AI methods for autonomy pipelines and design large-scale ML system architectures.
- Define requirements for high-quality datasets and auto-labeling systems.
- Mentor senior and lead engineers and influence the technical direction of multiple teams.
- Coordinate with AV Labs and other Uber engineering units to integrate and deploy autonomous technology at scale.
Requirements
- 8+ years of working experience in machine learning, robotics, or autonomous systems.
- 2+ years of working experience with L4 autonomy companies.
- Experience leading large-scale technical projects from conception through production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and Linux environments.
- Deep expertise with modern AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Preferred: PhD in Computer Vision, Robotics, or Machine Learning focused on autonomous driving.
- Preferred: extensive experience with C++, CUDA, and high-performance system optimization.
- Preferred: deep understanding of Robot Operating System (ROS) or similar autonomous middleware.
- Preferred: recognized expertise demonstrated through publications in CVPR, NeurIPS, or ICRA, or patents related to autonomous vehicles.
- Preferred: experience building and scaling foundation models for physical-world interaction.
