Responsibilities
- Deploy, maintain, and manage the lifecycle of on-premises Nutanix and/or Red Hat OpenShift cloud clusters.
- Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters using Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and OpenShift.
- Deploy applications, services, and middleware with Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators.
- Automate infrastructure and configuration management across virtualized and containerized environments using Ansible.
- Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and manage GitLab Runners.
- Monitor, patch, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve virtual machines, containers, platform services, and underlying infrastructure.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, cyber, and operations teams to integrate secure and reliable capabilities.
- Document designs, configuration baselines, automation playbooks, and operating procedures.
- Identify root causes of infrastructure issues and implement corrective actions.
- Improve DevOps tools, practices, and workflows to increase automation and delivery velocity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8 years of experience, or a related master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in place of a degree.
- Current, active DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, or CND, required at application and throughout the contract period.
- Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance required at application and start.
- Experience managing Nutanix or Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises environments.
- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters, specifically Nutanix Kubernetes Platform and OpenShift.
- Experience deploying applications and services with Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators.
- Strong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines and supporting GitLab Runners.
- Enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server system administration experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Preferred experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting; VMware administration; Windows Server and Active Directory integration; secure DevOps practices; highly available mission-critical systems; and defense or regulated environments.
- Agile/Scrum experience and Scrum Master certification are preferred.
