
Senior AI Security Automation Engineer, Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Drive the architecture and hands-on delivery of scalable, reliable agentic AI platforms for security workflows.
- Design and build production-grade AI systems including agents, skills, memory patterns, guardrails, and tool-use orchestration.
- Architect retrieval and context-engineering approaches using embeddings, semantic search, grounding, summarization, and prompt management.
- Engineer cloud-native AI services across AWS, Azure, and GCP using containers, serverless patterns, event-driven messaging, and distributed data stores.
- Optimize platform latency, throughput, scalability, caching, context efficiency, and cost controls.
- Build governed APIs and integrations connecting AI capabilities with security platforms, tools, and business processes.
- Establish evaluation, research, regression testing, monitoring, and observability frameworks for agent behavior and model quality.
- Define engineering standards for reliability, security, governance, and safe AI operation.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence technical direction through code reviews, architecture forums, and cross-team leadership.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and automation tools while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices.
- Support occasional Level 2–3 escalation resolution for operational incidents.
Requirements
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience developing AI, machine learning, or Generative AI solutions.
- Demonstrated experience architecting, developing, and deploying production-grade Generative AI and LLM-based solutions, including agentic workflows and enterprise tool integrations.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience delivering cloud-native applications, scalable distributed systems, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, durable messaging, and high-performance data access.
- Hands-on experience building RAG solutions involving embeddings, semantic search, knowledge grounding, context engineering, prompt optimization, and prompt lifecycle management.
- Experience implementing AI evaluation, testing, monitoring, observability, MLOps, LLMOps, and evaluation frameworks.
- Strong API design and integration experience for secure, reusable, and scalable enterprise platform services.
- Experience with cybersecurity data sources, SIEM platforms, threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, security analytics, and security automation.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD tools and production experience designing and implementing reliable CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong development and automation skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Go (Golang), Bash, and PowerShell.
- Experience with LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangChain, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake, Iceberg, Airflow, vector databases, semantic search, and enterprise RAG platforms.
- Knowledge of responsible AI, data governance, model risk management, privacy, security, resiliency, and risk management.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, architectural decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead complex initiatives while remaining hands-on.
- Experience developing cybersecurity, analytics, or operational intelligence solutions.
- Ability to lead and influence geographically distributed teams through virtual collaboration.
- Ability to work 8 AM–5 PM local time with occasional operational incident escalations.
