Responsibilities
- Design and implement features across on-premises Connector, cloud Relay, and Controller services.
- Own Controller microservices end to end, including rule engines, geolocation, event workers, proxy paths, and connector management.
- Diagnose and resolve production performance issues involving memory pressure, CPU saturation, latency, and autoscaling.
- Write architecture proposals and design documents and drive them through peer and architect review.
- Investigate complex production support cases involving customer environments, interoperability issues, and alternative technical approaches.
- Help shape the team’s AI-augmented development pipeline, including autonomous work boundaries, human gates, and validation requirements.
Requirements
- Require 7+ years of experience building production backend systems across Kubernetes-deployed services and Linux VM software.
- Require strong proficiency in Go or an adjacent systems-oriented language such as Rust or C++, plus willingness to work with Go, Python, and C/C++.
- Require experience operating software in customer environments, including on-premises services, marketplace images, update mechanisms, and long-tail version compatibility.
- Require hands-on production debugging with metrics, profiling, and autoscaling technologies including HPA and KEDA.
- Require Linux internals knowledge covering systemd, namespaces, and networking sufficient to debug customer-hosted Connectors.
- Require networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, TLS, proxies, NAT, and firewalls.
- Require experience using an agent harness in engineering work and the judgment to direct, review, and validate its output.
- Require excellent written communication and the ability to produce design documents that withstand review.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with ZTNA, SASE, SSE, VPN, network security, distributed systems, Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, CI/CD supply-chain practices, signed releases, SBOMs, reproducible builds, and production LLM-powered systems.
- Preferred candidates have a track record of driving architectural decisions across multiple services and mentoring or elevating peers.
