Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems for regulatory risk needs.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud-based risk-management solutions powered by AI technology.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams, including coding standards, design patterns, development practices, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, refactor systems, and optimize distributed-system performance.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to technology communities, and evaluate emerging tools and practices in a build-and-own environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: Master’s degree, 7+ years coding with multiple listed languages, and 3+ years with databases and database management systems.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, using AI coding tools and interactive AI tooling, mentoring engineers, applying observability, leading cross-functional initiatives, and enforcing coding standards and design patterns.

- Annual base salary varies by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Richmond, $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, and $215,200-$245,600 in New York.
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
