Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, monitor, and support SAP-related platforms or applications.
- Design and optimize Big Data systems and processes in cloud environments using SQL, Apache Spark, Python, and Azure data-platform technologies.
- Lead technical execution, architecture decisions, reference-architecture implementation, tool selection, and standards adoption within a squad.
- Create and refine backlog stories, break epics into deliverable work, define acceptance criteria, and influence prioritization and product roadmaps.
- Ensure application quality, security, privacy, performance, uptime, scalability, maintainability, and integration reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve bugs, security risks, performance issues, bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Establish monitoring, instrumentation, alerting, support playbooks, and proactive application-health practices.
- Implement automation for repeatable tasks and software-delivery efficiency.
- Partner with solution architects, product managers, peer engineers, vendors, and dependent squads on implementations and modernization.
- Maintain architecture and data documentation, including governance, metadata, data catalogs, and business glossaries where applicable.
- Mentor squad members and engineers on partner squads, provide technical leadership, and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, pair programming, communities of practice, and software-development lifecycle improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 8+ years of professional experience with mastery of relevant technical or business skills.
- At least 5 years of experience designing Big Data systems and processes in a cloud environment.
- Expertise in SQL and query optimization techniques.
- At least 5 years of experience with programming languages and at least 3 years of experience with Apache Spark and Python.
- Experience designing and developing an enterprise CI/CD process.
- Expertise across the data platform, including Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and SQLDB.
- Experience with Azure, including preferred experience with Logic Apps and Function Apps.
- Experience creating automation for repeatable tasks and understanding data design, data architecture, SDLC, and change management concepts.
- Experience with data catalogs, business glossaries, data governance, metadata management, and data-governance models is preferred.
- Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations and exposure to wholesale or retail solutions are preferred.
- Strong project and time management, communication, collaboration, influence, problem-solving, decision-making, and process-improvement skills.
- Ability to lead projects and end-to-end programs, manage partner expectations, and provide training and leadership without direct authority.
