Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed systems for OCI core infrastructure.
- Design fault-tolerant, durable, and in-service-upgradable systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
- Optimize systems for high-throughput workloads and large-scale data retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Define scalability, correctness, availability, KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and service-level expectations.
- Create performance, load, fault-injection, brownout, replication, and synchronization tests.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production and performance issues and participate in operational support rotations and incident response.
- Implement security controls, remediation plans, compliance documentation, and protections for multi-tenant cloud environments.
- Develop infrastructure automation and change-management processes for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, provide technical leadership, coordinate initiatives, and participate in candidate interviews.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–10+ years of software engineering experience building highly available, scalable distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Rust, C/C++, or a similar systems or backend language.
- Deep experience in distributed systems, cloud control planes, management planes, scheduling, virtualization, storage, networking, security, reliability, or platform automation.
- Ability to independently lead the design and delivery of complex, resilient, observable, and operable services.
- Strong understanding of failure handling, concurrency, asynchronous workflows, safe retries, and distributed-system lifecycle management.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills involving complex production and performance issues.
- Experience collaborating across teams and converting broad platform goals into clear designs and executable plans.
- Ability to mentor peers and raise technical standards through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on leadership.

- The role is a US-based salaried position with a stated hiring range of $114,600–$234,600 per annum and may include bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
