Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and deploy machine-learning solutions for optical transceiver calibration, test optimization, yield improvement, and equipment utilization.
- Build supervised-learning, regression, classification, anomaly-detection, Bayesian-optimization, reinforcement-learning, and hybrid model solutions for engineering and manufacturing data.
- Develop feature-engineering, data-quality, model-training, and model-evaluation pipelines for test and trace data.
- Integrate ML inference and optimization services with production test software, Python APIs, databases, and automation frameworks.
- Define model validation criteria covering accuracy, repeatability, test-time reduction, yield impact, false-pass/false-fail risk, and fallback behavior.
- Monitor production models for performance, drift, and operational failures, implementing versioning, logging, alerting, rollback, and retraining.
- Analyze manufacturing and test data to identify bottlenecks, failure signatures, correlations, and test-suite optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with test-development, product engineering, manufacturing, and software teams to deliver deployable solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and prepare technical documentation, results summaries, business-impact reports, invention disclosures, patents, or publications where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Applied Physics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying applied AI/ML solutions in engineering, manufacturing, test, semiconductor, optics, industrial, or similar environments.
- Experience delivering at least one ML solution beyond proof of concept, including integration, validation, and operational support.
- Strong Python software-development skills and experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, or equivalent ML frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of data preparation, feature engineering, cross-validation, metrics, bias/variance, model explainability, and error analysis.
- Experience with regression, classification, anomaly detection, and statistical analysis of engineering or manufacturing data.
- Experience building or consuming REST APIs and integrating ML components into larger software systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL, pandas, NumPy, and Parquet/CSV-based data pipelines.
- Familiarity with source control, code review, CI/CD, containerization, and Linux-based development environments.
- Preferred experience with time-series, sensor, measurement, manufacturing, test, or high-dimensional engineering data; Bayesian optimization; reinforcement learning; multi-armed bandits; constrained optimization; MLOps; test automation; instrumentation; statistical process control; yield analysis; or measurement-system analysis.
- Preferred familiarity with optical-transceiver testing, semiconductor test, high-speed electronics, signal integrity, hardware test automation, C#, .NET, LabVIEW, or established test-execution frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring skills.
