Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain software components running on AuterionOS, including applications, drivers, system services, and performance-critical components.
  • Add features, resolve bugs, write tests, and improve software performance on embedded platforms.
  • Collaborate with Board Support, engineering, product, and other development teams on internal and customer use cases.
  • Propose software solutions and own their implementation for Auterion’s drone products.
  • Provide L3 technical support to customers.
  • Write internal documentation and contribute to the public-facing knowledge base.
  • Participate in stand-ups, release planning, task prioritization, and sprint activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience writing object-oriented C++ and/or Python.
  • Extensive experience with embedded architectures, cross-compilation, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Expert Linux skills, including command-line operations, resource management, system services, and networking.
  • Deep knowledge of the Linux kernel, embedded device drivers, device tree configuration, and U-Boot.
  • Experience with Debian/Ubuntu-based systems, systemd, Debian packaging workflows, and complex Docker environments.
  • Knowledge of OTA updates such as Mender.
  • Proficiency with networking concepts, network diagnostic tools, and protocols including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of embedded security practices including secure boot, UEFI, boot-chain verification, encryption, and device security.
  • Basic electrical engineering experience with schematics and debugging I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN bus communications.
  • Bonus experience with video streaming, MIPI CSI drivers, NVIDIA Jetson, NXP iMX8, Linux open-source contributions, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience working in an agile environment and managing tasks in a sprint board.
  • Product-oriented mindset and willingness to drive project initiatives.
