Responsibilities
- Provide technical and subject matter expertise for security monitoring use cases and cyber operations.
- Develop and strengthen detections and use cases in SIEM platforms with technology, application, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and SOC partners.
- Build automation in SOAR and develop runbooks that streamline incident investigation and response.
- Facilitate log ingestion and use case development with Defensive Threat Operations Correlation Engineering.
- Review, attest, tune, and improve the existing security use case library.
- Maintain communication with security groups, SOC leadership, and technology stakeholders.
- Develop processes for a maturing detection engineering and automation program.
- Provide operational metrics and reports as needed.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of industry experience.
- Experience with cloud environments including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCP.
- Intermediate Python experience.
- Experience building detections in SIEM platforms and automating processes in SOAR.
- Educational background in IT, Engineering, or Cybersecurity, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership ability and experience working in a SOC environment.
- In-depth understanding of security operations, security technologies, and common exploitation techniques.
- Strong analytical, complex problem-solving, networking, and enterprise IT infrastructure knowledge, including TCP/IP packet-level knowledge.
- Preferred information security certifications include GCIH, GCSA, GPCS, GCTD, and GCFR.
- Preferred cloud platform certifications and experience in a large global financial services company.
- Understanding of modern cloud-centric architectures and DevOps principles.
