Responsibilities
- Build and own React Native features end to end, from ambiguous client problems and solution design through implementation, launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Partner with Product and Design to create responsive, trustworthy financial experiences involving product discovery, trading, and simplified client journeys.
- Work with APIs and dynamic or real-time data while making sound decisions about state management, rendering, performance, architecture, and reliability.
- Raise engineering standards through technical discussions, code reviews, collaboration, product ownership, and work across product and technical challenges.
- Guide development of Kraken’s new Asian-market app, including regional UX expectations, firewall and connectivity restrictions, vendors, and telemetry solutions.
Requirements
- Strong experience with React Native, including shipping meaningful production applications and making architectural and implementation decisions in a modern mobile codebase.
- Product-building mindset with strong product judgment and the ability to turn loosely defined client problems into measurable outcomes.
- Experience owning features end to end and using metrics, experimentation, client behavior, and feedback to improve shipped products.
- Experience building responsive, data-rich applications using APIs and dynamic or real-time data while collaborating closely with Product and Design.
- Experience shipping consumer mobile apps for Asian markets, including understanding regional UX and design conventions, technical limitations, firewall and connectivity restrictions, and launch challenges.
- Comfort using tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude while retaining responsibility for engineering judgment and quality.
- Preferred qualifications include fintech, trading, crypto, payments, or other financial technology experience; real-time or streaming data experience; mobile performance and reliability experience; mobile and web experience; Swift or Kotlin experience; and Chinese or another Asian language proficiency.
