Responsibilities

  • Write production-quality code across core services, platforms, and AI workflows.
  • Own and deliver complex features and system improvements from discovery through post-launch support.
  • Modernize legacy systems and migrate them incrementally to cloud-native architectures.
  • Design and evolve scalable microservices, APIs, event-driven integrations, and SaaS applications.
  • Build agentic AI systems with tool use, multi-step reasoning, workflow automation, task planning, autonomous execution, and human oversight.
  • Implement MCP-style patterns for context propagation, tool invocation, state and memory, and guardrails.
  • Integrate AI systems with business workflows, APIs, and data sources while implementing grounding, retrieval, validation, structured outputs, evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
  • Set architectural standards and guide service boundaries, data ownership, integration patterns, scalability, correctness, and cost tradeoffs.
  • Lead technical discovery, solution design, execution planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, launch readiness, and cross-team alignment.
  • Establish safe and effective AI-assisted development practices using tools for design, coding, testing, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and delivery acceleration.
  • Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design discussions, and help develop broader technical leadership.
  • Build containerized applications with Docker, deploy using Kubernetes, and partner with DevOps/SRE on CI/CD, observability, and safe deployments.
  • Participate across the SDLC, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven ownership and delivery of large, complex systems, including successful legacy-system modernization.
  • Production or production-like experience designing, building, and shipping AI-driven and agentic AI systems.
  • Hands-on technical leadership across teams or domains, with a strong record of mentoring engineers.
  • Ability to independently lead complete projects, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, manage technical risks, and drive execution through delivery.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET development.
  • Deep understanding of API design and distributed systems, with strong experience in microservices architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI processing systems, agentic architectures, autonomous workflows, tool or function calling, context and memory management, structured outputs, and AI workflow orchestration.
  • Experience integrating AI systems with datastores, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL, plus working knowledge of NoSQL stores and caching strategies such as Redis.
  • Strong experience with Docker and production containerization, and practical experience with Kubernetes.
  • Comfort working in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with Git and modern software development workflows, plus a strong understanding of testing strategies and production-quality code.
  • Frontend framework experience such as React or Angular is preferred.
  • Experience with Python, Java, TypeScript, message queues, event streaming, workflow orchestration platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI evaluation harnesses, prompt/version management, safety checks, or governance workflows is preferred.
  • Experience with high-throughput, real-time, or operationally critical SaaS systems and Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
