Responsibilities
- Build and support backend services for a specific area of Monzo’s banking platform.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional squad with product managers, marketers, researchers, designers, mobile and web engineers, analysts, business analysts, and writers.
- Design and develop distributed systems and resilient software focused on customer outcomes.
- Work across business areas including banking, payments, platform, security, financial crime, wealth, borrowing, growth, and expansion.
- Participate in the interview process, including a take-home task or pair-coding exercise and system-design discussion.
Requirements
- Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
- Interest in building products used by customers and making data-informed decisions.
- Comfort working collaboratively in an ambiguous environment.
- Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
- Some experience with strongly typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala.
- Formal qualifications or a degree are not required.
