Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support biometric software applications and services for web and Windows platforms.
- Implement biometric processing solutions involving fingerprint, facial recognition, identity verification, and related technologies.
- Develop and maintain APIs, services, and applications for biometric data processing and system integration.
- Integrate biometric hardware such as fingerprint scanners, cameras, and enrollment stations, along with third-party SDKs and external systems.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, code reviews, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
- Apply secure coding practices and help maintain system security, reliability, scalability, and code quality.
- Support source control and CI/CD processes using GitHub, Azure DevOps, and related development tools.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions and integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting global immigration and border security operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and professional experience.
- 3–5 years of software development experience using C# and .NET technologies.
- Experience with .NET Framework, .NET Core, or modern .NET platforms.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, database design, and query optimization.
- Experience developing secure applications and understanding application security best practices.
- Familiarity with integrating third-party SDKs, biometric hardware, or external systems.
- Experience using GitHub or similar source control systems.
- Exposure to fingerprint, facial-recognition, iris-recognition, identity-verification, biometric SDK, ABIS/AFIS, or identity-management technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, cloud technologies, containerized applications, and Windows desktop applications is preferred.
- Knowledge of NIST, ICAO, ANSI, or ISO biometric standards and experience in government, homeland security, immigration, border management, or law-enforcement technology are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical, written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
