Responsibilities
- Build and improve software and financial infrastructure that serves millions of businesses.
- Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship.
- Collaborate on multi-person coding projects and contribute to larger projects alongside peers.
- Lead small projects independently and navigate complex technical obstacles.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while reviewing, refining, and validating their outputs.
- Communicate technical work clearly to stakeholders, teammates, and other Stripe employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience.
- No more than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internship experience.
- Programming experience through side projects or classwork.
- Familiarity with Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go, with strong programming fundamentals.
- Experience from internships or collaborative multi-person coding projects in a university or professional setting.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and work with mentors or subject-matter experts.
- Clear written communication and ability to explain work to stakeholders and teammates.
- Ability to use AI tools with rigorous critical thinking and professional judgment.
- Preferred: specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or another technical area.
- Preferred: code review experience, production-system update knowledge, large-codebase familiarity, and independent project leadership experience.
