Base Salary
$160k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead computer vision model development and deployment for real-time production inspection and automated defect recognition.
- Architect pipelines for model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Develop software integrating hardware, sensors, tooling, sensor fusion, and AI-driven process monitoring systems.
- Build and optimize production data pipelines with real-time stream processing and inference.
- Connect AI models and outputs to manufacturing with part/process engineers, NDE engineers, and materials scientists.
- Lead design and code reviews, technology evaluations, and software engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or a related STEM discipline, or 8+ years of professional AI software or machine learning experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years of software development experience, including at least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience deploying AI models to production environments.
- At least 3 years of Python experience for data analysis.
- Technical leadership experience in AI/ML software projects and hands-on computer vision deployment for manufacturing inspection are preferred.
- Strong Python and C++ or similar development experience, plus PyTorch or JAX and OpenCV experience, are preferred.
- Experience with transformers, vision transformers, LLM or vision-language model fine-tuning, agentic tools, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud or edge inference, and MLOps is preferred.
- Experience with Kubeflow, Ray, MLflow, Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, Jupyter, Linux, physics-informed neural networks, or surrogate modeling is preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary and travel to other SpaceX sites up to 20%.
- Applicants must meet applicable ITAR citizenship, residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.
