Responsibilities
- Drive and implement comprehensive software test strategies using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
- Define testing scope, coverage, acceptance criteria, and requirements gaps in collaboration with business systems analysts and developers.
- Develop and maintain automated, functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, API, smoke, performance, and load tests.
- Create and maintain test data and perform exploratory and manual testing across web service, user interface, file, and database layers.
- Review team outputs, facilitate knowledge transfer, maintain testing standards, and champion improved practices.
- Demonstrate functionality to product owners and provide input into user story estimates.
- Identify risks, testing impediments, and software quality issues, and provide timely test-result updates to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Five or more years of experience in a technical QA/testing role.
- Proven experience testing software development in a structured environment and managing the defect lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of test levels from unit testing through user acceptance testing and the ability to define cohesive testing strategies.
- Experience with test frameworks and scripting automated functional tests, including Python, SQL, and related technical skills.
- Good experience with API, microservices, functional, end-to-end, regression, and smoke testing.
- Understanding of application servers, databases, web services, basic programming constructs, and system architecture.
- Experience working with user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
- AWS experience preferred.
- Experience creating test cases using GitHub Copilot preferred.
- Accessibility and security testing experience is a valued addition.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
