Responsibilities
- Design and run performance, load, stress, soak, resilience, and scalability tests for applications, APIs, data pipelines, and AI systems.
- Measure AI-system time to first token, end-to-end latency, throughput, concurrency limits, rate-limit behavior, and token cost per transaction.
- Build AI-assisted test automation using LLMs and agents to generate scripts, synthetic workloads, result triage, and reports.
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines using SLO-based thresholds and release gates.
- Instrument and monitor systems, analyze metrics, traces, and logs, and diagnose bottlenecks across application, database, network, and infrastructure layers.
- Build evaluation harnesses that measure AI output quality alongside performance.
- Lead workshops, communicate performance risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute benchmarks and testing patterns to the Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- Hands-on production performance testing experience with tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or Locust.
- Production-quality coding ability in at least one of Python, JavaScript/Node, Java, or .NET.
- Experience with observability and APM tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
- Working knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud infrastructure, containers, and relational, NoSQL, and vector data stores under load.
- Experience using AI tools or LLM APIs in engineering or testing workflows, including understanding token limits, rate limiting, streaming, caching, and concurrency.
- Strong written and verbal communication, pragmatic testing judgment, systems thinking, and comfort running multiple agents and automations in parallel.
