Senior Functional QA Engineer – SaaS Billing Integrations

Responsibilities
- Create and maintain functional testing plans for SaaS billing and cloud-data integrations.
- Design and execute tests covering billing configurations, subscription lifecycles, invoice generation, payment processing, revenue data flows, integrations, negative scenarios, boundary conditions, and edge cases.
- Perform functional testing through graphical web interfaces and validate REST API integration touchpoints.
- Coordinate testing exercises with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.
- Review SQL query results and data-parity reports to identify anomalies and discrepancies.
- Document test cases, execution evidence, results, defects, and retesting outcomes.
- Perform regression testing and confirm defect fixes do not negatively affect related billing or subscription workflows.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, blockers, defects, and quality concerns to business and engineering stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience in Functional Quality Assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience performing functional testing through web-based graphical interfaces.
- Experience creating comprehensive test plans for business workflows, integrations, negative scenarios, boundary conditions, and edge cases.
- Hands-on experience testing billing or subscription workflows, including subscription changes, mid-cycle modifications, invoice generation, and payment events.
- Strong experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on REST API testing experience using Postman, Newman, or equivalent tools.
- Read-level SQL knowledge and ability to interpret query results and data-parity reports.
- Ability to facilitate collaborative testing with platform administrators and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical judgment, non-obvious failure-scenario identification, and detailed documentation skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English and availability to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.
- Preferred experience with Zuora Billing, Revenue, or Subscription Management interfaces; billing-platform migrations or ERP transitions; GCP or BigQuery; Cypress or pytest; and ISTQB Foundation certification or an equivalent testing credential.
