Responsibilities
- Define and execute product stability strategies, test methodologies, quality gates, reliability metrics, and stability KPIs for complex SoC and software platforms.
- Lead large-scale stress, endurance, reliability, concurrency, and system-level stability testing across multiple subsystems, environments, chipsets, and customer use cases.
- Design and optimize stability test plans, scenarios, automation frameworks, and validation coverage across labs, CI, and field environments.
- Identify, reproduce, triage, analyze, and resolve critical defects including system hangs, kernel panics, watchdog resets, memory corruption, boot failures, performance degradation, and power or thermal anomalies.
- Perform crash-dump, trace, ramdump, CoreSight, T32, crash utility, and internal-tool analysis to drive root-cause identification and corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional triage and issue resolution with test, development, integration, architecture, commercial engineering, customer engineering, and program management teams.
- Develop automation, analytics, dashboards, and AI-assisted approaches for stability testing, defect identification, reporting, and coverage optimization.
- Assess commercialization readiness, analyze customer-reported issues, support release decisions, and minimize stability escapes.
- Mentor engineers and technical leads, lead technical reviews, share debugging practices, and contribute to organizational and architectural strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of industry experience in software, systems, platform validation, or product stability, with proven leadership of large-scale stability efforts.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years, a master’s degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years of software engineering or related work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong experience with Linux, Android, QNX internals, embedded systems, SoC architecture, CPU, memory, interrupts, schedulers, hypervisors, virtualization, power management, device drivers, kernel debugging, reliability testing, multi-core systems, crash analysis, and performance or stability optimization.
- Experience with crash-dump analysis, GDB or LLDB, JTAG or T32, CoreSight, kernel tracing, CI/CD systems, Python automation, data analytics, and dashboarding tools.
- Preferred experience includes automotive, XR, compute, mobile, IoT, or edge platforms; commercialization and customer-facing programs; large automation and validation infrastructures; functional safety and reliability engineering; or publications, patents, and system-architecture contributions.
