Responsibilities
- Write quality, maintainable, object-oriented C++ software.
- Develop and maintain PC programs used to configure truck-specific programming.
- Identify and control vehicle operation and maintenance risks.
- Prepare and maintain software documentation supporting truck-specific programming.
- Test truck-specific programming to verify that it operates as specified.
- Participate in peer reviews and other engineering activities.
- Support vehicle systems through troubleshooting or reprogramming.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic record with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Experience with C, C++, or a similar programming language is a standout qualification.
- Experience writing embedded applications on microcontrollers is preferred.
- Experience with Controller Area Network and the J1939 protocol is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Detail-oriented, quality-focused, independent, adaptable, and able to prioritize work under changing needs or tight deadlines.
