Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution through RFCs, HLD/LLD design documents, execution plans, and technical decision-making.
- Design, build, and maintain highly concurrent, low-latency backend systems capable of massive transactional throughput.
- Develop performance-optimized backend services using Ruby on Rails, Go, and related technologies.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries, database performance, and Redis caching while maintaining data consistency across microservices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, DevOps, and engineering teams on integrations and product delivery.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, review complex pull requests, and improve engineering practices.
- Identify system bottlenecks and infrastructural issues while advancing automated testing, observability, and CI/CD automation.
- Propose technical and organizational improvements that balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural stability.
Requirements
- 5 to 8+ years of intensive, non-internship professional software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails and robust proficiency in Go for high-performance APIs and multithreaded systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networks, concurrency control, and CAP theorem trade-offs.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, gRPC, MVC architecture, database design, optimization, and query performance tuning.
- Track record of delivering high-quality software while balancing reliability, scalability, security, usability, and other non-functional requirements.
- Ability to drive technical decisions, set expectations, manage stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and lead technical execution.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
- Familiarity with additional backend technologies and frameworks and experience implementing positive organizational changes are preferred.
