Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technology leaders and product teams to translate department goals and requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, maintain, and architect scalable Java applications and systems.
- Optimize application performance through code, database query, and resource-utilization improvements.
- Troubleshoot design flaws and system bottlenecks to improve stability and performance.
- Conduct validation and system performance testing to assess scalability, capacity, and bottlenecks.
- Generate and present system performance reports with metrics and improvement recommendations.
- Lead code reviews and provide feedback on software quality, readability, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science.
- At least seven years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java application development and software architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
- Experience with AWS or GCP is desired.
- Experience with Spring and Hibernate.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures.
- High-level project management skills and the ability to solve complex software system issues.
- Upper-intermediate written and spoken English proficiency.
- Experience with the software development life cycle.
- Experience monitoring production applications with telemetry and distributed logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and ELK.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
