Responsibilities
- Partner with development teams to understand workloads, configurations, and feature sets.
- Own cloud technology supporting automation and deployment of project features.
- Set up servers, collaborate on deployments, and create automation processes.
- Resolve operational issues and help ensure the reliability of Turbulent sites.
- Monitor alerts and incidents and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Monitor, analyze, and maintain network infrastructure.
- Document and maintain software features and virtual machine clusters.
- Develop troubleshooting documentation covering system design, networks, and dependencies.
- Participate in system testing for security, performance, resilience, and availability.
- Support capacity planning analysis and make recommendations.
- Manage access to environments.
- Improve DevOps processes and support other DevOps engineers and SREs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a DevOps, SysOps, or system administrator.
- 5+ years of experience in production environments with Kubernetes.
- Experience administering GNU/Linux-based environments.
- Proficiency with CI/CD processes using GitLab.
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation frameworks such as SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Good understanding of networks.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
