Responsibilities
- Develop, write, test, debug, and implement code for assigned software projects.
- Develop gameplay mechanics, player controls, game objects, UI-related functionality, and lower-level game systems.
- Review, analyze, and test products under development to support Nintendo’s quality and delivery standards.
- Read and debug other engineers’ code and solve relevant engineering problems.
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to bring gameplay ideas from concept through implementation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience in the relevant field.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, and portable code.
- Good understanding of core technologies, toolsets, and workflows for video game development.
- Strong knowledge of C, C++, or C#.
- Experience developing gameplay features, systems, or player-facing functionality for shipped video games.
- Experience implementing gameplay mechanics, player controls, game objects, or UI-driven gameplay features within a game engine.
- Experience collaborating with designers, artists, and cross-disciplinary partners.
- Preferred experience contributing to at least one shipped game title and clearly articulating individual technical contributions.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Benefits
- Hybrid position in Redmond, Washington, with regular onsite work; fully remote work is not available.
