Responsibilities
- Build the next generation of Anaplan’s platform using full-stack systems design and hands-on distributed systems programming.
- Design platforms as products that are extensible, observable, maintainable, and usable by internal engineering teams.
- Develop Kubernetes Operators using Kubebuilder or Operator SDK to manage complex, stateful application lifecycles.
- Implement Kubernetes control-plane logic, reconciliation loops, and custom resource definitions.
- Build high-concurrency, low-latency, eventually consistent microservices and distributed systems for high-scale SaaS products.
- Manage data persistence across public cloud and private data center environments.
- Design and scale telemetry, distributed tracing, and root-cause analysis infrastructure using OpenTelemetry.
- Scale Prometheus and Grafana to support high-cardinality observability data.
- Work with cloud storage and enterprise storage systems while accounting for performance, limitations, and cost drivers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience as a professional Platform Engineer.
- 10+ years of experience building and operating production-grade SaaS products at scale.
- Substantial experience with Java and Rust, with advanced proficiency in Go, Rust, or JVM-based languages.
- Experience building and operating workloads in Kubernetes and using cloud observability systems.
- Experience with S3, NFS, NetApp ONTAP, and AWS FSx storage technologies.
- Experience with distributed systems and systems programming, including memory-efficient and thread-safe code.
- Experience with monitoring and metrics infrastructure, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience across AWS, GCP, Azure, or private data centers.
- Bonus experience with AI/ML and natural language technologies.
