Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain highly available, low-latency, secure, and scalable APIs and backend services.
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and contribute reusable libraries, patterns, and service-scaling solutions.
- Use monitoring, profiling, tracing, load testing, data modeling, query optimization, and caching to improve performance.
- Implement feature toggles, CI/CD, test automation, logging, and monitoring for reliable releases.
- Participate in on-call rotations and assist with production troubleshooting and incident response.
- Provide progress updates and collaborate with engineering leads, Technical Program Managers, Product, Design, and QA.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of software development experience building backend cloud application systems.
- Experience with Kotlin, Python, or similar programming languages and Spring Boot, Bottle/Gunicorn, or comparable backend frameworks.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, caching systems, REST, gRPC, and GraphQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS services, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Datadog or similar APM tools.
- Understanding of API design, security best practices, performance optimization, distributed systems, production support, and troubleshooting.
- Bonus experience includes voice assistants or chatbots, search and discovery personalization, and automatic speech recognition.
