Base Salary
$114k - $191k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver customer-facing features and platform capabilities from design and implementation through rollout and production follow-through.
- Build reliable services, APIs, and web experiences while improving existing systems and shipping new capabilities.
- Develop AI-powered workflows and experiences using LLM tooling, evaluation, iteration, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
- Make technical tradeoffs across speed, maintainability, scalability, and customer impact.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, ML, and platform teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences.
- Champion Samsara’s cultural principles across a globally scaling organization.
Requirements
- At least 18 months of relevant software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating reliable customer-facing production systems.
- Experience developing end-to-end solutions across backend services, APIs, and modern web applications.
- Ability to independently own moderately complex projects or features through delivery and production follow-through.
- Experience writing maintainable code, reviewing peer code, and making tradeoffs across performance, scalability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Experience using metrics, logs, tests, or tracing to debug issues, validate releases, and improve reliability.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in AI-native development, including LLMs and workflow automation.
- Preferred experience building and scaling customer-facing AI/LLM products in production.
- Preferred experience with Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and AWS, plus observability, rollout, and monitoring practices.
