Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reliable, scalable MES applications and reporting solutions using Rockwell FTPC and related technologies.
  • Support MES integrations with Level 4 and Level 1/2 systems, including labeling and quality systems, using Rockwell EIG and event-driven approaches.
  • Troubleshoot complex, multi-tiered, highly integrated software systems and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Document solution design and analysis work for newly created or upgraded solutions.
  • Identify system and process improvements and collaborate with end users, subject-matter experts, and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain advanced technical expertise and articulate software development best practices.
  • Coach team members and share manufacturing software development knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in MES software development and implementation.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience with a COTS MES package such as Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, GE Proficy, Camstar, Apriso Flexnet, Werum, or a custom package.
  • Strong core Java and object-oriented design and development skills.
  • Understanding of multi-tiered and MVP software architectures and systems engineering.
  • Experience with complex systems troubleshooting, escalation management, and synchronous and asynchronous MES integrations using message brokers such as AMQ or Kafka.
  • Ability to work onsite alongside a small team using an Agile sprint-based methodology.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with BitBucket, GitHub, SQL, Python, and database triggers is complementary; teaching, tutoring, training delivery, and presentation experience are preferred.
