Responsibilities
- Write functional and design specifications for Linux drivers and APIs that manage hardware devices and implement them.
- Implement solutions in EOS and related software using C, C++, and Python.
- Create test plans and automated test programs, then debug and fix issues found through testing.
- Develop, test, and debug networking infrastructure, including AI networking.
- Analyze customer installation problems with Customer Support Engineers and provide software releases or patches when needed.
- Work with System Test Engineers to resolve issues found during system testing.
- Mentor new and junior engineers and review team members’ specifications and implementations.
- Help create, update, and report implementation and debugging schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering plus 12 years of experience; or a master’s degree plus 10 years; or a Ph.D. plus 7 years; or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of C, C++, and Python.
- Hands-on experience working with open-source software and libraries.
- Experience writing Linux drivers and APIs for managing hardware or software resources.
- Experience programming ASICs and other custom hardware.
- Understanding of distributed-systems infrastructure functions such as messaging, signalling, databases, and command-line interface techniques.
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently design and implement small solutions and contribute to medium-sized problems with limited oversight.
