Responsibilities
- Define and drive frontend architecture strategy across multiple product teams, including micro-frontend design and integration patterns.
- Lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from design through delivery.
- Architect and evolve Progressive Web App capabilities, including offline support, service workers, installability, and performance.
- Set technical standards for code quality, performance, accessibility, and testing.
- Mentor engineers and help develop future technical leaders.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to align technical roadmaps with business goals.
- Identify and resolve systemic issues in scalability, performance, and developer experience.
- Evaluate and introduce tools, frameworks, and engineering best practices.
- Represent frontend engineering in organization-wide architecture and planning discussions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a significant focus on frontend development.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing micro-frontend architectures, including Module Federation, single-spa, or similar technologies.
- Experience architecting and scaling complex, high-traffic web applications.
- Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility including WCAG, and browser fundamentals.
- Track record of leading technical projects spanning multiple teams or the broader organization.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical culture without direct management authority.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Node.js, backend-for-frontend services and APIs, Progressive Web Apps, service workers, caching strategies, offline-first design, web app manifests, design systems, component libraries, server-side rendering, edge computing, open-source contributions, technical writing or speaking, AI/LLM API integration, prompt engineering, and AI-tool usage guidelines or policies.
