Responsibilities
- Lead technical planning, architecture decisions, implementation, and release readiness for Levi’s customer-facing e-commerce site.
- Design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain high-performance, accessible web experiences using modern frontend frameworks and commerce APIs.
- Own site performance, reliability, accessibility, SEO, cross-browser compatibility, telemetry, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
- Lead code reviews, architecture reviews, technical standards, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategy.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, support hiring and team growth, and promote engineering best practices.
- Partner with product, design, and backend/platform engineering on requirements, API contracts, and integrations.
- Drive sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and on-call support for the site.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with significant frontend/web development depth.
- Experience leading the technical direction of a customer-facing web platform, ideally in e-commerce or another high-traffic transactional environment.
- Strong experience with Nuxt.js, Vue, or equivalent frameworks such as React or Next.js, plus JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with RESTful or GraphQL APIs, headless/composable commerce platforms, Git-based workflows, automated pipelines, and Docker.
- Experience implementing telemetry, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing using tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate other engineers and communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience using Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation, with critical validation for accuracy, security, and production quality.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data privacy, and safe handling of enterprise information.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider, including Azure, GCP, or AWS.
