Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for the Security Engineering team, setting technical direction and coaching and mentoring security engineers.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate security principles, practices, and tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design and build reusable Security as Code artifacts and patterns that improve security outcomes and reduce developer friction.
- Conduct threat modeling exercises and security assessments for critical applications, systems, projects, and technologies.
- Write hardening standards and security guidelines for technologies and processes.
- Develop automation for auditing activities, cloud security posture management, and other security processes.
- Maintain and expand the Infrastructure as Code codebase and CI/CD pipelines.
- Use AI to streamline security operations and help non-security teams adopt security-first practices.
- Collaborate on cross-functional security projects and monitor emerging security trends and technologies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including guiding, coaching, and mentoring engineers and leading cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to use modern AI and LLM frameworks to accelerate workflows and build scalable security solutions.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, secure software development practices, and security architecture.
- Strong expertise in AWS; GCP experience is a bonus.
- Strong understanding of container security, including Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD security controls, Infrastructure as Code preferably using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines preferably using GitHub Actions, and scripting with Python and Bash.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a pragmatic, proactive, collaborative, and continuous-improvement-oriented approach.
