Responsibilities
- Define and drive cloud security principles, standards, controls, and reference architectures across the organization.
- Advise engineers on securely building and operating products and services from the ground up.
- Assess, design, and implement security processes and controls for security, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Research emerging threats and attack vectors proactively.
- Partner with engineering teams to embed shift-left security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Implement and manage cloud and Kubernetes security posture management tooling for containerized workloads.
- Serve as a strategic and embedded security partner to DevOps, CI/CD, Cloud Architecture, Platform, Trust & Security, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Proven production experience with AWS and AWS security services, including IAM, Config, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to shift security left.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, including AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience with version control and CI tools such as GitLab and GitLab CI.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes admission controllers, and supply chain security.
- Understanding of internet and computer network protocols, including TCP/IP, TLS, and VPN.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty certification or similar is preferred.
- General familiarity with AI tools and large language models, such as Claude by Anthropic and AWS Bedrock, is preferred.
