Responsibilities
- Design tactical autonomy algorithms for unmanned aircraft and other platforms across air, land, and sea domains.
- Develop high-performance software for planning, decision-making, behavior execution, and multi-agent coordination.
- Implement and test behavior architectures for target engagement, reconnaissance, and survivability.
- Blend classical autonomy and machine learning approaches, including reinforcement learning.
- Integrate autonomy software with hardware and collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight-test teams.
- Deploy autonomy capabilities to real platforms and participate in field tests, flight demonstrations, and mission validation.
- Analyze mission logs and performance data to diagnose failures and optimize behavior models.
- Research and prototype new algorithms, identify capability gaps, and contribute to the autonomy roadmap.
- Adapt autonomy solutions to defense programs, customer requirements, compliance needs, and operational feedback.
- Provide customer software handover and training and maintain internal and customer-facing technical documentation.
- Mentor teammates and serve as a hands-on technical lead and subject matter expert.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace, AI, computer science, robotics, or a related engineering field.
- 12+ years of industry experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience for autonomy or robotics applications.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a startup environment.
- Strong software engineering background and modern C++ proficiency.
- Intermediate Python proficiency.
- Ability to travel and stay deployed at customer sites across India and Asia.
- Fluent Hindi and English communication skills.
- Preferred: experience in the defense aviation or robotics industry.
- Preferred: ability to travel to the United States for up to three months at a time for training.
