Responsibilities
- Design and build Java/Spring backend services and React/TypeScript frontend interfaces.
- Develop APIs, integrations, data models, and distributed or event-driven workflows for cloud-based SaaS applications.
- Own features from technical design through implementation, automated testing, release, monitoring, and production support.
- Use AI coding agents for exploration, planning, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and refactoring, with engineering review of generated changes.
- Modernize established software through incremental migrations, stronger test coverage, and architecture improvements.
- Improve observability, security, performance, deployment reliability, and operational quality while investigating incidents.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, review code, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, quality, and platform teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting production SaaS or enterprise applications.
- 4+ years of production Java and Spring experience, plus hands-on frontend development with React and TypeScript.
- Experience designing APIs, data models, integrations, and distributed or event-driven systems.
- Experience building and operating applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including automated delivery and production support.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools for implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring, documentation, or codebase analysis.
- Strong engineering judgment, including explaining trade-offs, diagnosing problems, and delivering maintainable solutions.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex features and effective collaboration across engineering and product teams.
- Valuable experience includes Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, GraphQL, Hibernate, JDBC, Kafka, relational databases, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, established Java web technologies, testing, observability, reliability, production operations, and agentic development workflows.
