Base Salary
$126k - $189k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Java and Python applications across microservices and distributed architectures.
- Standardize application metrics, logs, and traces using OpenTelemetry.
- Use BigPanda and Google Cloud Observability tools to correlate alerts, reduce noise, and automate remediation.
- Integrate AI/ML and agentic capabilities into observability and automation pipelines for predictive failure detection and self-healing systems.
- Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets with reliability and product engineering teams.
- Partner with AI/ML, platform, and architecture teams on scalable observability and automation solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship as the observability and AIOps subject matter expert.
- Participate in analysis, design, construction, testing, deployment, and maintenance across the SDLC.
- Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues and lead collaborative root cause analysis.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience with Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks.
- Practical Python experience for application development, automation, and tooling.
- Expertise instrumenting Java and Python applications with OpenTelemetry and standardizing telemetry across services.
- Experience with BigPanda or similar alert correlation, event management, and automated remediation tools.
- Proficiency with Google Cloud Observability, including Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Trace.
- Understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
- Experience integrating AI/ML or agentic capabilities into operational workflows is highly desirable.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating monitoring and automation tools with backend services.
- Strong Git, CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration experience, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Master’s degree or relevant cloud, SRE, or AIOps certifications is a plus.
