Base Salary
$95k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve product and software quality issues while providing technical assistance to customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Review statements of work, proposals, design plans, procedures, test procedures, and manuals to understand product scope and requirements.
- Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations, failure analysis, corrective actions, and defect-prevention activities.
- Analyze quality data and trends to mitigate recurring defects and improve product integrity.
- Design, implement, and test new procedures and conduct low-risk experiments to validate process improvements.
- Create process-improvement proposals addressing scope, cost, schedule, risk, and metrics.
- Drive improvements to the software development process and lead Agile/Scrum activities for high-quality, compliant software delivery.
- Provide mission assurance by mitigating risks, enhancing opportunities, and ensuring compliance throughout the software development life cycle.
- Lead quality teams, provide technical oversight, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience in quality engineering or another engineering role.
- At least 5 years of work experience and at least 2 years of programming experience.
- Experience with C, C++, Java, Rust, Matlab, or Python in Windows, Linux, or Solaris environments.
- Familiarity with automation tools, quality tools, testing frameworks, and GitLab pipelines.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and process integration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug difficult technical problems and work independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred knowledge of MIL-Spec, DO-178C, software cybersecurity principles and tools, Agile/Scrum, and a broad range of software development activities.
- Applicants selected for the position must obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
