Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable workflows for deploying and managing Kubernetes-native applications across multi-tenant and multi-cluster environments.
  • Lead development of reusable Helm charts, deployment strategies, and platform templates.
  • Build custom Kubernetes controllers and operators using Go or Python to automate application lifecycle tasks.
  • Design and implement event-driven or agent-based systems using Kafka, controller patterns, or equivalent technologies.
  • Contribute to platform architecture decisions involving deployment strategy, multi-cluster configuration, and observability.
  • Implement infrastructure automation with Terraform, cloud-init, Ansible, or equivalent tooling.
  • Support GitOps pipeline design using ArgoCD, Fleet, or equivalent tools and contribute to CI/CD pipeline standards.
  • Ensure containerized deployments meet DISA STIGs and program security policies, including secure secrets management and certificate lifecycle integration.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and guide design decisions and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Help establish internal standards, shared tooling, and reusable component frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with equivalent experience accepted in substitution.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, primarily in cloud-native, Kubernetes-based, or distributed systems contexts.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph before consideration and prior to starting.
  • Deep experience coding in Go and/or Python in cloud-native environments.
  • Strong Kubernetes expertise, including CRDs, Helm, GitOps, and multi-tenant deployments.
  • Experience with event-driven or agent-based systems, including Kafka or controller patterns.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end system component delivery and proven mentorship and technical leadership capability.
  • Ability to balance automation with operator oversight in classified environments.
  • Preferred experience with TypeScript, OpenShift, Rancher, service mesh technologies, observability tooling, AWS GovCloud, C2S/SC2S classified clouds, or cross-domain solutions.
  • DoD 8140 IASAE Level II or III certification, such as CASP+ or CISSP, is desirable.
